Question 1

Who is ChiefDesk for?

Accepted Answer

ChiefDesk is for nonprofit executive directors, CEOs, founders, entrepreneurs, and consultants who need an operating layer without hiring a full-time chief of staff. It is especially useful for lean teams producing board updates, funder follow-ups, grant narratives, SOPs, donor communications, and strategy documents every week.

Question 2

Will ChiefDesk work for a two-person organization?

Accepted Answer

Yes. ChiefDesk is designed for the executive director and the operations generalist working side by side. Pre-loaded prompts and ready-made workflows cover the documents a small team has to produce, so you can get value without a dedicated communications director, grant writer, or chief of staff.

Question 3

Is ChiefDesk a replacement for an executive assistant or chief of staff?

Accepted Answer

ChiefDesk is software, not staff. It drafts and organizes the work while you keep the judgment, relationships, and final approval. That makes it an on-demand operating partner with an audit trail—not a person representing your organization or making decisions on its behalf.

Question 4

What happens from the demo to the weekly workflow?

Accepted Answer

The process starts with a 20-minute demo about your board cycle, upcoming funder deadlines, team shape, and the document that keeps getting stuck. ChiefDesk then produces a real artifact, you review and refine it, and the approved patterns become a weekly deliverable loop for board updates, grant work, SOPs, and leadership follow-through.

Question 5

What does ChiefDesk actually produce?

Accepted Answer

ChiefDesk produces working drafts you can review and ship: board reports, donor communications, grant proposals, proposal scaffolds, strategic plans, OKR templates, SOPs, HR administration templates, and recurring weekly briefings. The goal is a useful document grounded in your organization—not a generic answer in a chat window.

Question 6

What does setup and onboarding involve?

Accepted Answer

Setup takes about twenty minutes. Invite your team, connect the tools you use for the work, and share three to five example documents so ChiefDesk can match your tone and constraints. The prompt library is pre-loaded, so you can run a first document immediately instead of waiting through an implementation project.

Question 7

How much does ChiefDesk cost?

Accepted Answer

Starter is $49/month for solopreneurs and early-stage founders. Growth is $199/month for small businesses and nonprofit leaders with active operations. Nonprofit Pro is $299/month for registered 501(c)(3) organizations with annual budgets under $5M. Executive is $750/month for CEOs, agencies, and organizations ready for priority support. There are no per-document fees or annual lock-in.

Question 8

What is the Grant Generator add-on?

Accepted Answer

The Grant Generator is a one-time $1,500 add-on, not a subscription. It turns your brief into source-grounded grant sections — needs statement, methodology, budget narrative, and proposal scaffold — with one revision pass included. You can pair it with any SaaS tier or buy it standalone. Share your source materials — and ChiefDesk produces an AI-assisted draft for your team to review and finalize.

Question 9

Can I switch tiers, pause, or cancel?

Accepted Answer

Starter, Growth, and Nonprofit Pro include a 14-day free trial. Executive remains Book a Demo. You can switch tiers, pause, or cancel from the billing portal at any time. There is no annual lock-in or cancellation fee, and the one-time Grant Generator is non-refundable after its deliverable has shipped.

Question 10

How does ChiefDesk handle my data?

Accepted Answer

Your documents, prompts, and account details stay inside your ChiefDesk account. They are not used to train external models, and ChiefDesk does not sell or share them.

Question 11

Who owns and approves the work ChiefDesk produces?

Accepted Answer

You do. ChiefDesk drafts; your team reviews, edits, and approves before anything represents the organization. Every revision stays in the document trail, and you can export the documents you generated if you leave the service.

Question 12

What changes on an organization plan?

Accepted Answer

Organization plans give multiple leaders a shared operating context instead of forcing each person to duplicate setup. Teams can align on repeatable workflows, templates, and handoffs; the right people get the right level of access; and one organization-level relationship keeps billing and planning easier to manage.

Question 13

How do permissions work for a shared organization?

Accepted Answer

Permissions are designed around the work your team needs to share. Leadership keeps control of shared work while the right people receive the access they need to contribute. We map the team shape and approval boundaries during the discovery conversation before recommending an organization plan.

Question 14

How do I know whether my team needs an organization plan?

Accepted Answer

An organization plan is a fit when more than one leader needs the same operating picture, shared workflows, or centralized billing. If one person owns the workspace and context, a standard tier is usually the simpler starting point. A demo can make the choice concrete against your team and weekly cadence.
